On Sept. 11, 2011, head coach Jim Harbaugh made his debut with the San Francisco 49ers. Just like this season, the Niners opened up Week 1 against their NFC West nemesis, the Seattle Seahawks.
This was one of the last eras that San Francisco was a threat on special teams, in terms of the return game. The 49ers had almost given up a 16-0 lead when the Hawks came back trailing 19-17 with less than five minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Inside of four minutes to go in regulation, San Francisco scored a touchdown, courtesy of wide receiver Tedd Ginn Jr.
