Escaping Week 1 with a win over the Seattle Seahawks was perhaps the lone positive takeaway for the San Francisco 49ers.
They suddenly head into their next game against the New Orleans Saints with a rash of injuries, which is concerning, albeit unpredictable.
Nonetheless, something that could've been avoided was spending a second-round draft pick on Alfred Collins, the former Texas defensive tackle who clearly wasn't ready for his NFL debut.
Collins only logged nine defensive snaps in the Niners' 17-13 victory over the Hawks (and three on special teams). But he didn't just fail to make an impact on the field; his presence also made a negative impact.
