There are few things sports fanbases love more than going wild about an aggregated rumor condensed into tweet form (with the double-eye emoji, of course). The latest such occurrence was on Sunday, when San Francisco 49ers fans were baited by the following post from Pro Football Focus, and by association, Fox Sports.

It’s certainly an enticing possibility, as are all rumors involving big-time names. Sure, Barkley’s 2021 was mediocre at best, and he suffered a torn ACL the season prior, but he’s barely removed from an above-average sophomore season that followed a Rookie of the Year campaign (and 2,028 scrimmage yards).
