Forbes has posted another one of those “Top lists”, this time ranking the 50 most valuable sports teams. The San Francisco 49ers have come in at #10, tied with the Los Angeles Lakers (basketball). They are worth an estimated $2.7 billion, an increase of 69 percent over last year.
Say what you want about the lack of spending in free agency, the stadium, whatever, the 49ers have arranged all of it to make money and they are certainly accomplishing that feat. There’s definitely a lot more to the financials than what Forbes wrote about, but it’s still impressive, especially with disaster like last season.
