Frank Gore climbs to third on NFL’s career rushing list

Frank Gore might no longer be the 1,000-yard rusher he was for eight of his 10 seasons with the 49ers, but the 15th-year veteran still has something left in the tank.

The Buffalo running back showed that Sunday, rushing for 65 yards as the host Bills beat the Denver Broncos 20-3. In the process, Gore boosted his career rushing total to 15,289 yards, moving him past Barry Sanders (15,269) for third place in NFL history. Gore also increased his total to 19,154 yards from scrimmage to pass Marshall Faulk for fourth on the list.

“After the game, when I saw all the cameras, I was like, ‘Man, I passed Barry,’” Gore said.
