Former Stanford, 49ers lineman faces criminal threats charges in courtroom

Former Stanford and 49ers offensive lineman Jonathan Martin on Tuesday pleaded not guilty in a Van Nuys courtroom to four felony counts of making criminal threats, and one misdemeanor count of possessing a loaded firearm in public, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The charges were related to a dark Instagram post which read, “When you’re a bully & a coward, your options are suicide, or revenge.” Included in the post were the Twitter handles of two former high school classmates of Martin, and two of his former Miami Dolphins teammates. Pictured on the post was a shotgun with #HarvardWestlake on the barrel and #MiamiDolphins on the handle.
