Familiar faces could interview for Chiefs GM job

The Kansas City Chiefs surprised the football world this past week when they announced the departure of general manager John Dorsey. The two sides had been discussing a contract extension, but talks stalled, and things quickly went south. Initial reports suggested a mutual parting, but it became pretty clear that the Chiefs were the ones making the call.

A departure this late in the offseason suggests an internal candidate could take over. However, the team appears set to move into a broader interview process. The first report we’ve heard came from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. He tweeted Sunday morning that the Chiefs have reached out to ESPN analyst Louis Riddick to set up an interview next week.
