For the third time this season, the 49ers lost a game in its last seconds Sunday against the Falcons.
Julio Jones put the Falcons up 23-22 with a touchdown catch, leaving the 49ers just two seconds to somehow score and win the game.

In their desperation to score, the Niners turned to the ol’ lateral play on the kickoff, hoping a Falcons team that had made two critical mistakes on special teams earlier in the game would complete the trio.
