Former 49ers running back Frank Gore, who has made a career out of proving his doubters wrong, now has more rushing yards than all but two men in NFL history.
Not bad for a guy some critics didn’t think would last more than two years in the league.
Gore, in his 15th season in the league and his first with the Buffalo Bills, surpassed Barry Sanders for third place on the league’s all-time leading rusher list on Sunday. Gore’s 7-yard run in the fourth quarter of Buffalo’s 20-3 victory over Denver helped give him three more yards than Sanders’ 15,269 yards.
