Ex-49ers coach Mike Singletary resigns high school job after one win in two years

Mike Singletary was a Hall of Famer on the football field, but duplicating that success while standing on the sideline has been difficult for the former 49ers head coach.

The 61-year-old’s latest coaching struggles ended with him resigning as a high school head coach in Texas after leading Trinity Christian-Addison to a 1-21 record over two seasons.

The Dallas Morning News reported Singletary tendered his resignation in December to focus on motivational speaking and consulting opportunities. Unfortunately for Singletary, he wasn’t able to coax much success out of his private school team at Trinity Christian — the Trojans went 0-11 last year after a 1-10 finish in 2018.
