Eric Reid files grievance against NFL, 49ers say they’d consider taking him back

Former 49ers Pro Bowl safety Eric Reid, who joined Colin Kaepernick by kneeling in silent protest during the national anthem before NFL games, is following Kaepernick’s lead once again — by filing a collusion grievance against the league, according to ESPN.

Coincidentally, Reid’s complaint was filed as 49ers general manager John Lynch told ESPN that the team “remains in contact” with Reid and would consider re-signing him.

Neither Kaepernick, who opted out of his 49ers contract after the 2016 season, nor Reid, whose contract expired after the 2017 season, have been able to find a job in the NFL.
