Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy appears to have been comparing his team's extremely funny defeat to the San Francisco 49ers in last year's playoffs to something more serious: The literal killing of Jesus Christ.
When speaking to reporters on Friday, McCarthy was asked how he's using the Jan. 2022 defeat to motivate his team going into Sunday's divisional round matchup. "We have spent time on that," he said. "We refer to it as the sacred wound as far as our past going back to offseason program, training camp and going back to the beginning of the season.
