Despite the insufferable number of injuries to high-profile players the San Francisco 49ers have been forced to face throughout (and even before) this 2025 NFL campaign, the latest being the season-ending ankle injury to All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner.
The one superstar who has managed to stay healthy is Christian McCaffrey, which is ridiculously ironic, seeing as how the three-time Pro Bowl running back had missed 37 of a possible 84 regular-season games over the last five years coming into the year, including 13 a season ago.
And head coach Kyle Shanahan has certainly taken advantage, as McCaffrey has been an absolute workhorse through the first seven weeks, easily leading the NFL in total touches with 185, which is 31 more than second-place Jonathan Taylor of the Indianapolis Colts and 51 more than third-place Javonte Williams of the Dallas Cowboys.
