The NFL has worked each year to make the draft more and more of a spectacle. They’ve started introducing more guests to announce the picks, and are doing it on location for a variety of teams. And the 2018 NFL Draft is only going to add to the spectacle.
The league announced the locations and individuals involved in day three picks, and the San Francisco 49ers will be an interesting one. They’re going to have Chewbacca, Stormtroopers and R2-D2 announcing picks, along with Ron Howard and the SFPAL 49ers prep flag football team.
LucasFilm is based in the Bay Area, with an office in San Francisco and Skywalker Ranch is based north of the city in Marin County.
