A year ago, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy was effectively forced into relying on his chemistry with wide receiver Jauan Jennings, thanks largely to regression from a previous favorite, wide receiver Deebo Samuel, and a slow start/season-ending injury to fellow wideout Brandon Aiyuk.
That chemistry worked, as Jennings finished with a career-best 975 yards in spite of a frustrating 6-11 campaign by the Niners.
The Jennings-Purdy rapport may still be important in 2025, but it's becoming clearer the recently paid franchise quarterback has to rely more heavily on San Francisco's top investment from the 2024 NFL Draft, wide receiver Ricky Pearsall.
