Brace yourself, 49ers McKinnon practicing, but Street IR bound

SANTA CLARA — Part of this 49ers season certainly will revolve around charting comebacks from anterior cruciate ligament surgeries. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo’s is obviously the most important. Tuesday came news of two other ACL patients.

First, the good news: running back Jerick McKinnon returned to practice, three weeks since his last cameo, and this time he donned a brace on his surgically repaired knee he initially declined to wear for mentality sake.

Now, the bad news: defensive end Kentavius Street is likely heading for injured reserve and will miss the season, as was the case his rookie year after an ACL tear in pre-draft workouts.
