Quarterback Mac Jones and the San Francisco 49ers knew they'd be in for a bit of a respite in Week 9 after losing a week ago to a tough Houston Texans defense.
The New York Giants' own defense, after all, entered Sunday's contest giving up the third-most yards in the league (3,059) and was the absolute worst defending the run, giving up an average of 5.7 yards per carry.
That figured to help running back Christian McCaffrey back into form after the previous week's struggles, which in turn, opened up more opportunities for Jones to pick apart a banged-up G-Men secondary.
