The San Francisco 49ers had a tough task in handling the Chicago Bears, and to their credit got themselves within striking distance of the upset despite eventually losing Week 16 by 14-9.
Unfortunately, the Chicago juggernaut rolled on past the Niners, although not without an impressive showing by the team in red.
Quarterback Nick Mullens had a decent day going 22-for-38, 241 yards and an interception that was not his fault. It was a solid B-grade day for him. He did end the game for the 49ers with an ill-timed fourth-down throw, but that shouldn’t detract from the solid job he did overall.
