I don’t need to remind people here at Niners Nation that we are a big, big Alex Smith house. The 49ers went through a period of mediocrity and Smith was one of the few pieces that tried to hold things together. His professionalism is unparalleled and to this day his career is underrated for the things he had to deal with.
Which is why it was so gut-wrenching to see the guy fracture his leg the way he did back in 2018. Not just the fracture, but the complications after with it getting infected.
