Ageless Frank Gore bound for Buffalo and 15th NFL season, but intends to retire a 49er

Another year, another training camp, another NFL season for the indomitable Frank Gore.

A 2005 draft choice of the 49ers, Gore doesn’t predate leather helmets. But he could tell his teammates about a time when helmet-to-helmet contact was just part of the game. He’s 36, three years older than Rams head coach Sean McVay.

Gore doesn’t know when he’ll retire. But he knows where, and isn’t shy about his post-football plans.

“I’m going to be a Niner, you know,” Gore told Florida’s Sun-Sentinel last week. “I’ve been there — that’s who drafted me, gave me the opportunity to come into this league, to be a professional ball player, and I was there 10 years, man.
