Ever since I heard about Joe Montana’s 500-acre Calistoga ranch with a 9,700-square-foot Tuscan mansion, stables, olive trees and a wine cellar that can hold 3,500 bottles, I like to imagine the Montanas greeting visitors by saying, “It’s not much, but we call it it home.”
The property is up for sale for a Joe Cool $29.8 million according to the Wall Street Journal. The Journal reports the Montanas originally put the estate up for sale, asking — in a tip of the helmet to the team Joe led to four Super Bowl victories — $49 million. The new price point represents a 41 percent discount.
