As a FOX analyst for the past eight years, John Lynch often spoke with longtime offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan during production meetings to get insight into the game he would be broadcasting.
In fact, their last such meeting occurred before the Shanahan and the Falcons beat the Seahawks in a divisional-playoff game on Jan. 14. Lynch and play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt covered the game for FOX.
Less than two weeks later, however, the roles were reversed: On Friday, Shananan, along with 49ers CEO Jed York and executive Paraag Marathe, posed questions to Lynch to see if he would the man to become the 49ers’ next general manager.
