San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said he wants a veteran cornerback on the roster now that Jason Verrett was lost for the year after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury last Thursday during practice.
When cornerback Ambry Thomas came off the field in Week 17, he walked straight to Verrett on multiple occasions, asking for Verrett’s advice. So, it’s unsurprising that Shanahan wants to add experience at cornerback.
Aaron Wilson reported that the 49ers are working out veteran cornerback Casey Hayward. Hayward last played for the Atlanta Falcons for the first six games of the 2022 regular season.
