The San Francisco 49ers today announced they have waived/injured OL Erik Magnuson.
Magnuson (6-6, 305), who played collegiately at the University of Michigan, originally signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2017. He appeared in eight games (three starts) over the past two seasons along the offensive line, including four games (one start) in 2018.
Magnuson is an offensive lineman who can play any position on the line, a precious trait for a backup. The problem is that he doesn’t appear very good at any of them.
