49ers vs. Vikings: The good, bad and ugly from San Francisco’s preseason bout

The San Francisco 49ers fell to 1-2 in the 2017 preseason after losing to the Minnesota Vikings 32-31 on Sunday Night.

In what’s usually viewed as a true dress rehearsal to the regular season, San Francisco’s first-team offense and defense looked far more capable units over the first half.

Quarterback Brian Hoyer was effective, as was wide receiver Pierre Garcon.

And the Niners defense, taking advantage of a questionable Vikings offensive line, was able to put regular pressure on Minnesota quarterback Sam Bradford.
