SANTA CLARA – The Gauntlet. The Hellacious Hat Trick. Three-And-Out?
Name it what you like but the 49ers’ upcoming three-game stretch sets up as, simply, the toughest of the Super Bowl era this deep into a season, at least based on team records.
After hosting the Green Bay Packers (8-2), the 49ers (9-1) go on a 10-day road trip for games at the Baltimore Ravens (8-2) and the New Orleans Saints (8-2), with a layover in southwest Florida before the Dec. 8 Superdome visit for NFC playoff positions.
