The San Francisco 49ers played a mediocre game against the Dallas Cowboys last week in Santa Clara for Week 1 of the preseason. The Niners defensive unit was able to keep the Cowboys out of the end zone the whole game. The offense struggled at times, but was able to muster two touchdown-scoring drives.
This effort was enough to beat Dallas by a final score of 17-9.
The final score doesn’t mean much in preseason football, and it means even less in the first game. Teams usually use Weeks 2 and 3 to really evaluate their starting rosters.
