49ers trade Marquise Goodwin to the Eagles

Per Adam Schefter, the San Francisco 49ers have traded WR Marquise Goodwin to the Philadelphia Eagles. The two teams exchanged sixth-round selections. General manager John Lynch maintained during the week that the team was trying to find a “good home” for Goodwin, and that appears to be the case. The Niners would be wise to designate the trade with a Post-June-1 date, as that would save the team $4.2 million in cap space. With the trade for Breida, the 49ers have cleared $7 million in cap space today. Factor in Joe Staley’s retirement, and that’s another $10 million.
