It's kind of odd to say this, but in hindsight, the San Francisco 49ers could have inactivated punter Thomas Morstead the last two weeks, and no one would have noticed a difference.
That's because the Niners haven't punted in back-to-back games.
In its victories over both the Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts in Weeks 15 and 16, respectively, San Francisco either ended offensive drives in scores or an occasional turnover, as was the case late against Indy on a tipped pass from quarterback Brock Purdy.
Morstead, meanwhile, was relegated to being a spectator throughout both contests, and there's a good chance both head coach Kyle Shanahan and special teams coordinator Brant Boyer didn't mind whatsoever.
