On the final day of the NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected their first and only quarterback of 2025: Indiana’s Kurtis Rourke. The 7th-round pick joins starter Brock Purdy and backups Mac Jones and Tanner Mordecai on the 49ers’ quarterback roster.
Rourke, 24, grew up in Ontario, Canada, and joined the Ohio Bobcats in 2019. He played there for five seasons, which included a redshirt year and a season-ending ACL tear in 2022. In 2024, he transferred to Indiana to play his final year of college eligibility. At the end of the season, Rourke’s agent said the quarterback had re-aggravated his right leg injury and played the 2024 season with a torn ACL.
