49ers sign two veteran defensive linemen

SANTA CLARA -- The 49ers signed two experienced NFL defensive linemen on Wednesday as the club reported to training camp.

The club signed Cedric Thornton and Will Sutton to one-year contracts, while also signing offensive lineman JP Flynn to a two-year deal. To clear the three roster spots, the 49ers waived veteran defensive back Don Jones, and undrafted rookies, offensive lineman Jamar McGloster and defensive lineman Blaine Woodson.

Thornton has appeared in 89 games with 48 starts in his career. He spent five seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, followed by one season apiece with Dallas and Buffalo.
