The San Francisco 49ers announced they have signed OL Andrew Gardner to a one-year deal. In order to make room on the roster, the team waived OL Josh Allen.
Gardner (6-6, 308) was originally selected by the Miami Dolphins in the sixth round (181st overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft. Throughout his time in the NFL, Gardner has appeared in 27 games (11 starts) in stints with the Dolphins (2009-10), Baltimore Ravens (2010), Minnesota Vikings (2010), Cincinnati Bengals (2010-11), Houston Texans (2011-13) and Philadelphia Eagles (2014-15). Gardner appeared in 19 games (11 starts) in his two seasons with Philadelphia.
