The San Francisco 49ers announced they’ve signed cornerback Chris Campbell to a one-year deal and have waived offensive lineman Dillon Day. San Francisco will be without cornerbacks Jason Verrett, K’Waun Williams and starters Ahkello Witherspoon, Richard Sherman for Thursday’s preseason finale.
Campbell (6-1, 195) was initially drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the sixth round (182nd overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. Arizona waived him on September 1, 2018, and later signed to the New Orleans Saints practice squad on October 16, 2018, where he spent the remainder of the season.
