49ers send tight ends coach to work out Sacramento area pass catcher | The Sacramento Bee

The 49ers sent their tight ends coach to San Diego this week to work out former Oak Ridge High pass catcher Ross Dwelley, who had 20 touchdown catches over the last two seasons for the University of San Diego.

When the Toreros held their pro day last week, the headliner was former Texas A&M quarterback and first-round draft pick Johnny Manziel, who is trying to convince NFL teams he deserves another chance in the league.

Manziel was invited to throw by Dwelley and receiver Justin Priest, who also went to Oak Ridge, which is in El Dorado Hills outside of Sacramento.
