49ers seek blood donations for genome research

When you think of blood at football games, you tend to think of the players on the field. At Levi’s Stadium this fall, however, you might want to start thinking about the fans instead.

The San Francisco 49ers have teamed up with a Boston-based biotech company, Orig3n, in an effort to support research into genetic and regenerative medicine.

Said 49ers COO Ethan Casson about the partnership:

“This is the first agreement of its kind and we’re excited to provide our fans with a unique opportunity to form personal connections with the 49ers in a way that contributes to human genome research.
