49ers report card: ‘A’ fabulous road to a 2-0 start

CINCINNATI — Here is how the 49ers (2-0) graded in Sunday’s 41-17 rout of the Bengals (0-2):

PASS OFFENSE: A

Jimmy Garoppolo, shelled all week for a lackluster debut in Tampa, responded with his first three-touchdown game as a 49er. Keying that hat trick were great pass protection (no sacks) and excellent play by an array of receivers, starting with Marquise Goodwin’s 39-yard touchdown catch. Deebo Samuel’s further legitimized his starting role with physical, fearless play (five catches, 87 yards).
