49ers release tight end Logan Paulsen, place Arik Armstead on injured reserve

The San Francisco 49ers have released tight end Logan Paulsen, the team announced on Tuesday. It was reported earlier in the day that they had signed defensive linemen Leger Douzable and Tony McDaniel to the active roster while placing Arik Armstead on injured reserve.

This meant they needed one more roster move to make room for the signings, and we now know that move was to release Paulsen.

Paulsen, 30, was the third tight end on the depth chart behind rookie George Kittle and backup Garrett Celek.
