San Francisco 49ers kicker Jake Moody and the entire special teams unit couldn’t have had a worse start to the 2025 season if they tried, even if the 49ers were able to escape Seattle with a crucial division win.
The 49ers pulled out a 17-13 win over the Seahawks in the final two minutes of Sunday’s season opener thanks to some heroics from backup tight end Jake Tonges. But the heartstopping win could have been a much calmer affair if not for a special teams horrorshow.
Lining up for a field-goal attempt from the 27-yard line, Moody bounced the kick off the upright.
