Veteran kicker Robbie Gould‘s price tag just went up.
It probably was going to be relatively high to begin with, although that shouldn’t discourage the San Francisco 49ers from re-signing the 36-year-old veteran, who converted an NFL-best 97.1 percent of field-goal tries in 2018.
And the Chicago Bears probably wish they never let Gould go after the 2015 season.
The Bears’ outstanding 2018 campaign came crashing to a halt in the NFC Wild Card round on Sunday, watching their Super Bowl aspirations fall short after their kicker, Cody Parkey, hit the left upright and then the crossbar on a 43-yard attempt with time about to expire against the Philadelphia Eagles.
