The 49ers have placed Arik Armstead on the injured reserve days after the defensive end broke his left hand in second quarter Sunday against Washington.
Kyle Shanahan seemingly worried about such a situation after the game..
“Losing Arik, which could be some time, we’ll have to discuss IR,” the 49ers coach told reporters after the loss. “We have to do that over the next couple of days.”
San Francisco signed free agent defensive lineman Leger Douzable and Tony McDaniel. The team also released tight end Logan Paulson.
“The more guys you lose, the less you like that depth,” Shanahan said Sunday.
