The San Francisco 49ers are placing cornerback Richard Sherman on the injured reserve due to a leg issue, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. This is a surprise as Kyle Shanahan didn’t mention any injury when we spoke to him on Monday, though he may not have known about the injury at the time. Garafolo said the injury is unclear. I remember Sherm grabbing his calf in the second half, and he missed four plays late in the fourth quarter because of it, but I didn’t think anything of it.
