The San Francisco 49ers announced some roster transactions Saturday afternoon. The team has placed running back Matt Breida and wide receiver Dante Pettis on injured reserve for the final game of the season against the Los Angeles Rams while promoting wide receiver Max McCaffrey and defensive lineman Ryan Delaire from the practice squad.
Breida had been fighting ankle issues all season but was heavily leaned on despite the injury. Just when you thought he’d be out—he’d come back into the huddle and take it another 12 yards.
