49ers: Notes from Week 15 loss to the Atlanta Falcons

It was a rough outing for the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday as they went down at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons in a 29-22 affair that saw the ‘Dirty Birds’ take the lead late in the fourth quarter on two goal-line scores, one of which was waived off.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve noticed a trend in this 49ers defense the past two weeks, and it’s not a good one. They gave up nearly 50 points last week to Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints.

This time out, they gave up 19 points in the fourth quarter to Matt Ryan and a Falcons team without two of its top three receivers from the beginning of the year in Mohamed Sanu and Calvin Ridley — a team that also has one of the worst rushing offenses and offensive lines in the league.
