One exhibtion to go, and 53 men to remain after Saturday’s 1 p.m. roster deadline. Here is how I handicap that initial 53-man roster (with starters) ahead of Thursday night’s exhibition finale against the Los Angeles Chargers at Levi’s Stadium:
Quarterbacks (2): Jimmy Garoppolo, C.J. Beathard.
Extra point: Garoppolo is all set for his first full season as a starting quarterback, evewn if a few passes sailed high in exhibition action and he was lucky to throw only one interception. Beathard beat out Nick Mullens for the No. 2 role n a competition that could get real in 2019.
