At this point, San Francisco 49ers kicker Jake Moody might be out of the job before the clock runs out on the Niners' Week 1 regular-season opener against the Seattle Seahawks.
Moody missed his first attempt of the young season, a would-be easy 27-yard try that was described by the Fox broadcasting crew as a "chip shot." The ball dunked off the left upright and denied the Niners what would have been a 10-7 lead heading toward halftime.
Instead, the Hawks marched back down the field and made a field goal of their own, a 48-yarder by Jason Myers that seemed to be an open insult to San Francisco's own placekicker.
