Inside linebacker Gerald Hodges said he’ll return to the starting lineup for Saturday’s game against the Rams after he violated team rules and didn’t play in a 41-13 loss to the Falcons on Sunday.
Hodges declined to say what prompted head coach Chip Kelly to make him inactive.
“It was just a coach’s decision not to dress me that game,” Hodges said. “That’s what it was. It was just their decision. We live with it. And I’m back in the starting lineup this week and I’m ready to go.”
Without Hodges, the 49ers had just one inside linebacker after Nick Bellore was injured on their third defensive play.
