49ers’ John Lynch Q&A on Reuben Foster’s release: ‘He didn’t protect the team’

TAMPA, Fla. – General manager John Lynch addressed reporters for over six minutes today about four hours after the 49ers released linebacker Reuben Foster following his arrest for first-degree misdemeanor domestic-violence battery Saturday night at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay.

JL: I can tell you it’s extremely disappointing for me. For Kyle (Shanahan). For ownership. For everybody in here because we care a lot about Reuben. I can tell you that it was a situation where we laid out some very specific ground rules for Reuben, as we do for all our players.
