According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the 49ers have agreed to terms with former Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Javon Hargrave on a four-year, $84 million deal with $40 million guaranteed at signing.
Hargrave was terrific for Philadelphia last season. In addition to recording 11 sacks, the 30-year-old recorded 66 total quarterback pressures. No 49ers interior defensive lineman has eclipsed 60 pressures in a season since DeForest Buckner tallied 66 in 2019.
There’s an old saying that the best ability is availability. Hargrave fits this having played 79 of 82 regular season games over his first five NFL seasons.
