The injury bug has bitten the San Francisco 49ers hard so far in 2018, and more injury setbacks happened during the Niners’ 29-27 Week 4 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday.
Two of the biggest ones came to left tackle Joe Staley and rookie wide receiver Dante Pettis.
Pettis went down awkwardly on San Francisco’s first punt return of the game, landing on his left knee and requiring assistance off the field from the 49ers training staff. You can see the play itself here.
In the second quarter, Staley injured his right knee and exited the game.
