49ers George Kittle hurt on first snap at Cardinals

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Tight end George Kittle, the 49ers’ offensive catalyst, injured his left leg on their opening snap of tonight’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Kittle, after getting evaluated on the sideline by the 49ers medical staff, was able to return for the start of the 49ers’ second possession. That series, like their first one, did not yield a first down, and the latter one ended when Jimmy Garoppolo’s third-and-2 pass to Kittle got broken up by safety Budda Baker.

Kittle is their leading receiver this season and last. he appeared to bang his knee or have his leg hit upon impacting a Cardinals defensive linemen in the backfield.
